What did we learn at the BJB College?
Most of us, including those who are still in the classrooms, look back at the college days with a sense of fondness, pride, remorse, nostalgia--or maybe a strange mix of these and more. The ‘good ole days’ are not good old for all of us, after all.
Yet, what’s undeniable is the fact that the college provided our stepping stones for an adult understanding of the life around us: one through which we learnt that we could not anymore take everything for granted in a life relatively sheltered by protective family members and intervening school teachers. Thus, although the College made us autonomous in certain good measures, it made us immensely careless, intensely romantic and infinitely philosophical as well. Seemed like we could bunk the classes, be in starry love, and center the world around us: after all, we thought we could change the world!
This mix of independence and disillusionment only helped and continues to help us in shaping and reshaping our worldviews. And perhaps, one day in everyone’s life, the cherished dreams might get realized. In the meantime, how about recording the progress in our own alumni website?
